FIRE SAFETY & SYSTEMS

Fire Alarm Systems:

Our dedicated fire alarm division are able to offer a turnkey solution on fire safety. There are a number of different fire alarm systems dependent on the type and use of building and we offer a full package including design, install and servicing in line with current regulations.

Whether it is a domestic BS5839: Part 6 system to advanced BS5839: Part 1, we can cater for everything.

  • LD1 - A system installed throughout the dwelling, incorporating detectors in all circulation spaces that form part of the escape routes from the dwelling, and in all rooms and areas in which fire might start, other than toilets, bathrooms and shower rooms.

    •
      • LD2 - A system incorporating detectors in all circulation spaces that form part of the escape routes from the dwelling, and in all rooms or areas that present a high risk of fire.

        •
          • LD3 - A system incorporating detectors in all circulation spaces that form part of the escape routes from the dwelling.

              • Grade F - System of one or more battery powered smoke alarms (and heat alarms if required).

                •
                  • Grade E - System of interlinked mains powered smoke alarms (and heat alarms if required) with NO stand-by supply. The interlink can be hardwired or radio-interlinked.

                    •
                      • Grade D - System incorporating one or more interlinked mains powered smoke alarms (and heat alarms if required), each with an integral stand-by supply. The interlink can be hardwired or radio-interlinked.

                        •
                          • Grade C - System consisting of smoke detectors and sounders (which may be smoke alarms) connected to a common power supply, comprising normal mains and stand-by supply, with central control equipment

                            •
                              • Grade B - Fire detection and alarm system comprising fire detectors (other than smoke alarms), fire alarm sounders and control and indicating equipment to either BS EN 54-2 (and power supply to BS EN 54-4), or to Annex C of BS 5839: Pt.6.

                                •
                                  • Grade A - Fire detection system incorporating control and indicating equipment to BS EN 54-2, and power supply to BS EN 54-4, installed to BS 5839: Pt.1 with some minor exceptions.
                                    • Different systems we offer are:

                                      •  Domestic

                                          •  Conventional (zones)

                                              •  Analogue addressable
                                                • We also offer a range of specialist detection options such as:

                                                  Aspirating smoke detection:

This system uses an aspirating fan to draw air from the protected area via a network of sampling pipes and sampling holes. The sampled air is then passed through a high sensitivity precision detector that analyses the air and generates warning signals when appropriate. This type of system is useful in food production factories or an alternative for void detection.

                                                  Beam Detection:

This works on the principle of light obscuration. The photosensitive element of the Optical Beam Smoke Detector sees light produced by the Transmitter in a normal condition and when the state changes the system is activated. This is useful for very large areas such as warehouses etc.

We are fully conversant with the regulations to ensure your system is the right one for you.

                                                  Smoke Vents:

We carry out the supply, install, commissioning and maintenance of smoke vents and AOV (automatic opening vent) systems. These systems work in a variety of different ways and work closely inline with most fire alarms system, in turn it is vital they are maintained on a regular basis. We can upgrade existing systems to suit any changes in your requirements and integrate them with other systems.

                                                  Refuge Systems:

Current Building Regulations insist all new non-domestic buildings with more than one storey provide ‘refuge’ areas – relatively safe places where people who cannot easily use fire escapes and evacuation lifts can call for assistance and wait until help arrives. From end user training to additions or upgrades we will be able to take care of your requests.

                                                  Aftercare:

Even if we have not installed your system our 24 hours call out service will ensure whatever your requirement from advice over the phone to a full service package will cover any system you have in place. Please contact us for further details.
